Compton Park Music Festival is a community-driven celebration of connection and local talent. The festival is free and accessible to all. We are passionate about bringing neighbours together to build community and foster a sense of belonging.

Our festivals aims to:

• Provide a free, accessible, and welcoming community event.
• Present and promote a diverse range of musical artists from various musical genres, intentionally promoting artists from equity-deserving groups and Indigenous artists.
• Compensate artists fairly.
• Provide emerging artists with an opportunity for professional performance and collaboration.
• Provide free creative programming to families to foster connection and creativity. 

Founded by musician, arts educator, and producer, Larissa Koniuk, Compton Park Music Festival is at its heart, a celebration of togetherness. Coming from a background of producing live theatre, tours, and film, Larissa was interested in creating a festival from the ground up, relying on community support and engagement.

Coming together in summer 2022, our collective produced its first music festival, with the tagline "neighbours making music for neighbours." Our first year was funded largely through individual families setting up lemonade stands around the neighbourhood! This hyper-local spirit ties through all of our programming.

Compton Park Music Festival continued in summer 2023 and 2024, growing each year. The festival welcomes everyone to enjoy live music, food, face painting, and crafts in our own local park. We work to maintain a welcoming and inclusive space where families, children, and residents of all ages and backgrounds can gather, connect, and spend time together as a community.

We work to create opportunities for neighbours to share their music and talents by inviting both established and emerging artists. In addition, we strive to strengthen the culture of our neighbourhood through diverse artists, musical styles and languages.
